This Florida woman's home is virtually self-sustaining; she uses solar energy and purified rainwater instead of public utilities.
That sparked the attention of local officials, who challenged the woman in court for having "unsanitary" water conditions.
While she was in fact using public sewage without paying dues on it, the city then capped her sewage and told her she must attach herself to the city's water system.
There may be some gray areas here, but ultimately the woman was doing everyone a favor by living a self-sustaining lifestyle and not being wasteful with resources. Her lifestyle was challenged, and this is a perfect example of the law being used against the common good.
