Why was the web site down today?

You may have noticed that we were knocked "off the air" for about eight hours on Thursday.

Our hosting company, which is usually pretty good, claimed they could not help us so it was necessary, at great expense, to hire an outside programmer at emergency rates to get things running again.

We're still trying to understand what happened and will keep you posted.

A down day like this reduces the already minimal income the site generates to cover its bills.

If you're inclined to help, we could use some help paying today's programmer's bill. Every little bit helps a lot.

The Fourth Amendment

Here's a lesson from a purer, more moral lessons from a, sadly, bygone era. It should be obvious by now -- what, with Ed Snowden and Tom Drake suffering under the bootheel of the New Fascist Amerika. The "government" and the NSA have proven themselves indifferent to the Fourth Amendment, and the notion that Americans should be entitled to privacy with respect to their personal effects.

How would Andy Griffith have felt about the Snowden revelations that the government is recording and storing all of our phone calls. Just watch.

Brasscheck TV's answer to the normal human question: "What can I do?"
