Have you ever sat at a traffic light burning gas while there are no cars, bicycles, or pedestrians anywhere near the crosswalk?

Red lights and stop signs actual encourage reckless and aggressive driving.

That's the evidence.

If you've ever been in the Third World with huge intersections that have no traffic signals at all you know that the traffic runs fine. People may have to think a little more, but guess what? They're capable of it.

Believe it or not, since the invention of traffic lights, no one has ever tested whether they improve safety and traffic flow.

Sweden and The Netherlands have been willing to test the idea. Now the UK is too.
