The US news media is unlikely to ask the most obvious question about the 2001 anthrax attacks. Why did the Pentagon have weaponized anthrax in the first place? It seems there was a brisk trade in biological weapons to Iraq during the Reagan/Bush administration with James Baker and Donald Rumsfeld playing an active role. There was an equally lucrative business selling anthrax vaccines during Gulf War 1 (over 500,000 troops injected) and anthrax antidotes during the post-9/11 anthrax attacks provided by none other than Bayer.
