Brasscheck TV's love advice

When it comes to romantic love, give everyone - including yourself - a break.

If it seems hard and you feel like you're on the losing end most (or even all) of the time, that's because it IS hard. Stop 1,000 people on the street and ask how many have happy romantic love lives and you'll come up with a very small number of yeses.

Luckily, there's a whole lot more to life than this absolutely unreliable and emotionally overwhelming phenomenon.

If you're in the throes of the downside, read Alain de Botton's "The Consolations of Philosophy." He's one of the few writers to openly admit and document the fact that romantic love is a train wreck for nearly everybody.

In other words: It's not just you. It really is not just you. Really.
