Demolishing the "Tech is god" Myth
People who make and sell and get advertising dollars from technology companies will tell you that "technology is the answer" to every problem.
Dr. Kentaro Toyama - an expert on how technology is actually used - begs to differ.
Hardly a Luddite, he graduated from Yale with a PhD in Computer Science and from Harvard with a bachelor's degree in Physics. He was also the co-founder of Microsoft Research India. He knows what he is talking about.
It's long talk and it takes time to get going. Give it the time. Very refreshing.
Take away: "Technology only magnifies human intent and capacity." It can make things better. It can also make things worse too.
