State Department employee Peter Van Buren told the truth about the US Iraq occupation:

Billions of dollars were wasted trying to buy the love of the Iraqi people.

(Perhaps not bombing them for ten plus years and then invading and occupying their country would have been a good place to start.)

Van Buren told the truth, submitted his book "We Meant Well" through the right channels, and the State Department approved it.

Now they want to take it back.
