This technology is offered as a way to bring high quality education to places that don't have schools or teachers.

Sugata Mitra has to present it this way because if he pointed out the obvious - children learn better when there are not imprisoned in substandard "schools" - the education mafia would run him out of town on a rail.

Most schools and most teachers hold back learning and development. They don't advance it.
