It's fascinating to watch Russ Baker of WhoWhatWhy.com spar with a mainstream news reporter, in this case Emily Rooney.

The topic is the supposed carjacking victim "Danny" in the Boston Marathon case.

Why does the "Danny" story matter?

Because he's the guy who pinned the Boston Bombing on the two brothers. Without "Danny's" testimony - faceless, anonymous, under an assumed name - there was no reason to chase them down, murder one and nearly murder the other.

Note how resistant the mainstreamer is to simply address basic facts. Early in the conversation she points out she's in a building full of "reporters" who for purely emotional reasons don't want to deal with the facts of the story.

And that's the state-of-the-art of reporting in America today.
