Outdated, unfair renter/tenant laws

Thinking about moving to Arkansas and renting a house?

Think again.

Arkansas is the only state in America that doesn't require that landlords properly maintain their property before the tenant has to pay.

In addition, a landlord can begin the legal process against a tenant when they are just one day late on rent.

Given the nature of the court processing system, it's extremely hard for the tenant to fairly get time to tell their side of the story.

For being the second poorest state in the nation, lower income earners are not given much of a break, and are instead being sent to jail for their inability to pay.

Take a glimpse into this terrible situation with Vice News.
