It's amusing to see news reporters express indignation about being assaulted by so-called police officers at peaceful demonstrations in the US.

Assaults on demonstrators by police at peaceful demonstrations in the US have been the norm since the beginning of time. It's been so bad so long that I simply assume they will take place.

Why is this simple fact of life not well known?

Because the news media invariably cooperates with the police to make "negative" images disappear. This time, reporters - FOX reporters no less - got their feathers ruffled because they were assaulted. All I can say is "welcome to the club."
