Another "benefit" for the TTIP

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership or TTIP threatens EU regulations on meat products

It’s no surprise large, corporate Agri-business sees EU food standards as a barrier to profits. It is these standards that protect public health and animal welfare.

As independent meat inspectors note in this video, many current practices for producing meat rely on conditions for animals that create meat laced with Ecoli, salmonella, tapeworms and abscesses. Only with inspection can these animals and their by-products be regulated to protect consumers from meat diseases that threaten human lives.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, known as TTIP, being proposed by the European Union threatens to get rid of port inspections and regulations of not just domestically grown meat, but imported meat as well --- all of which will put millions of people across Britain and the EU at risk of eating contaminated food.
