As we watch Bush destroy the United States (by waging illegal and immoral wars; by shredding the US Constitution; by laying the legal and organizational foundations for a police state), let's remember one simple fact:

Bush was never elected. Not in 2000. And not in 2004.

In 1997, I predicted, after exhaustive research, that the election system in the US was so unreliable and full of opportunities for fraud that it was possible to put anyone in the White House, regardless of how patently incompetent and corrupt.

Frankly, I never thought my dire projection would come to pass so quickly, or so dramatically.
