Author Ryan Holiday talks with Brasscheck

Sometimes people ask us where we got the name Brasscheck.

It's a tribute to one of the most censored books in American history:

Upton Sinclair's "The Brass Check" which quietly - very quietly - celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Brasscheck is also the name of a publicity company founded in 2012 by bestselling author Ryan Holiday. He seems to be one of the few people on earth who has actually read this book.

The powers-that-be didn't burn "The Brass Check". They just refused to review it or even mention it and spent decades ridiculing its author Upton Sinclair.

His sin: He exposed the corruption of the news media in greater detail than anyone else before or since.
