As oil apparently becomes harder to find and harder to extract, one western country - Canada - seems to be holding a winning hand.
Of course, simply holding a winning hand doesn't make you a winner. Canada won't be the first country to have its sovereignty threatened by the dubious advantage of have oil under (or in this case, in) its land.
