The NSA spying program has been ruled illegal by the second circuit court of appeals.

The court ruled that the Patriot act was not sufficient to justify the extent of spying committed by the NSA, and that it "exceeds the scope of what Congress has authorized".

This is a huge win, but will it hold up? Will this court rule really change things?
