How ridiculous can it get?

At the same time as proposing cuts to higher education, Arizona wants to raise the money spent on private prisons.

This seems like a complete conflict of interests for the general welfare.

Wouldn't it make sense that providing citizens with better education would decrease poverty and therefore decrease crime and the need for prisons?

Apparently that logic doesn't work in in this state.
