During the 1980s, the Reagan-Bush administration, in violation of US and international law, provided Saddam Hussein with billions of dollars worth of weapons including weapons of mass destruction.
US troops were ordered to destroy tons of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons as part of the first Gulf War.
The scale of the stockpiles destroyed staggers the imagination. Just one of the facilities, documented in this video, had a storage capacity equivalent to the floor space of one hundred Super Wal-Marts.
These illegal weapons, first supplied and then largely destroyed by the US to eliminate the evidence of their existence, were later used to justify the illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003.
